Seeing Red Media

Seeing Red Media is an Indigenous-owned media company, based on Six Nations of the Grand River Territory. The brand’s original purpose was to amplify the voices and vision of established and emerging Indigenous storytellers and to increase representation and cultural accuracy of Indigenous people in all forms of media.

The term “seeing red” refers to the media’s intentional and inferior misrepresentation of Indigenous people and culture in the media. Today, Seeing Red’s vision is to elevate the rightful status of Indigenous people through powerful, educational storytelling that builds cultural awareness and representation across all forms of art and media.

From brand strategy to creative development W Design Co. has supported the creative process that led to the creation of the Seeing Red Media logo. The logo embodies many artifacts and symbols that are of cultural significance, but also represents the brand’s purpose and vision. Most notably, the red feather is a powerful symbol of unity, as it represents a willingness to take up the fight in solidarity both with and for Indigenous people regardless of who you are, or where you come from.

W Design Co. has supported the brand rollout including corporate stationary, social media channel branding, and introductory video storyboarding and production. We also designed, built, and launched their new website, providing all web design, copyrighting, development and hosting services. As the brand continues to grow and  evolve, we anticipate continuing to support the brand’s evolution through ongoing website media expansion and other marketing and brand deliverables.

Testimonial

“As a former national agency CEO/Owner, I take partners seriously. Out of the gate this group brought life to our drawing board. Strategic brand development and design ownership that has resulted in a globally recognized platform across major markets. I think Mike Holmes stole this from W Design Co….’do it right the first time’.”
